Frank Carl Glover was born in Pinehurst, Georgia. He grew up hunting rabbits, picking cotton alongside women who slipped into his row when he fell behind, and celebrating Fourth Sundays that turned an entire community into family. At sixteen, he moved with his mother to Orlando, Florida, trading peanut fields for city blocks and learning, block by block, how to carry himself in a bigger, faster world.

In 1972, at 19, Frank enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where discipline stopped being a lesson and became a way of life. Seven years later, he became a Florida State Trooper. He would go on to serve during the Liberty City unrest, deploy during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm as a soldier, and later work as a Special Agent for the State of Florida, mentoring young people toward careers in service.

Frank has worn a Marine uniform, a trooper’s badge, and a soldier’s fatigues, but the role he speaks of most is fatherhood. Raising his daughters and now watching six grandchildren grow, he found the kind of peace that no uniform ever gave him.

Today, retired and living in Orlando, Frank spends his time mentoring young people, reflecting on the men and women who shaped him, and writing down the lessons he almost didn’t survive learning. Home Sweet Home is the result, an honest, unflinching account of a life built one hard-won lesson at a time.
